In Valmonte, winding streets are lined with mature Eucalyptus trees. Deep setbacks allow for sprawling, elegantly landscaped lawns creating an idyllic neighborhood environment. Lots here are flatter and quite shaded by the natural landscape. It is very easy to walk to ride your bike to nearby Rivera Village, where community events, dining and boutique shopping can be found. Many residents enjoy hopping onto the nearby jog path to exercise in the open air while enjoying the natural beauty the peninsula offers.
Malaga Cove is home to the PV Beach & Athletic Club, a member’s only club built in the 1930’s with an Olympic sized pool that overlooks the ocean. Malaga Cove Plaza is where residents can drop in for quick conveniences. At the center of the plaza is a copy of the famous bronze Neptune fountain in Bologna, Italy.
In the surfing culture, Lunada Bay is often at the center of a controversial turf war. Homeowners here enjoy use of a walking/jogging path that runs along the center of the main road in and out of the area. There is plenty of flat, open space that the city has utilized to create parks, sports fields, and walking trails. It is popular for buyers because larger, flat lots with ocean views can be obtained.
It is important to know that the majority of Palos Verdes falls under the governing rules of the
PV Art Jury. The Art Jury was established in 1923 to protect the landscape, resident homeowners, and future property values in the area. The Jury monitors all building specifications and property changes to the developing peninsula. Plans for remodeling and/or building in PV are tightly monitored by the Art Jury.
“The Hill” is a huge draw for professional and amateur cyclists alike with a dynamic ocean view and challenging road-course. Protected, open land allows for golf courses, horseback riding trails and hiking trails practically right in your backyard! Pointe Vicente is a local favorite for its groomed walking trails and unobstructed views of the annual
whale migration route.
